Allan Godley

Allan, began his excitement with images and playing with photography at Safety Bay Senior High School back in the days of film and B&W imagery, capturing angles in which he sought to be striking and creative.

The Western Australian mining industry got a hold of Allans interest’s for work, venturing to Koolan Island to become an Iron Ore Crushing Supervisor, then to Port Hedland and Karratha into the role of a ShutDown Supervisor.

After years of mining and FIFO, he felt as if he wanted to regain his previous lifestyle, not just mining.
So with a few idea’s already working away in the background, Allan resumed his passion for photography and interest in the technology of Aerial Photography with Drone’s, showing new amazing perspectives in the photography world.

Allan obtained his commercial drone license and created the company “Creative Drone Worx’, however with the impact of COVID-19 he decided to close his business and carry on photography as his hobby.

In July 2020 Allan suffered a seizure whilst sailing his RC Yacht on Palm Beach Jetty, nearly drowning. He was rushed to Rockingham Hospital and after scans was told he had a brain tumour.
Allan went in for surgery at Charlie Gardiener’s Hospital in Dr Wong’s hands and woke with a 3-5cm tumour having been removed.

The positivity, and reassurance from his local GP, Dr Gary Webb from Bayside Medical Center, plus support from family and friends has helped him to get slowly back to his passion of photography.

Dr Clare Cook asked Allan if he would like to display his images on the Bayside Medical Center walls which he thought to be a brilliant idea to help others battling life’s curveballs as he has just been through himself.
